Institutional Repository Renamed “ScholarWorks @ Georgia State University”
The name of Georgia State University’s institutional repository has changed from the “Digital Archive” to “ScholarWorks @ Georgia State University.”
Several years ago, the Senate Library Committee had a role in the development and naming of Georgia State’s institutional repository, the “Digital Archive.” That name served us well for several years, but, over time, an increase in the amount of digitized materials available from both Special Collections & Archives and Digital Collections began to cause some confusion about the scope and nature of these distinct collections. In an effort to make it easier to locate and use all of the library’s digital content, and with the approval of the SLC and the Dean of Libraries, the institutional repository has been renamed “ScholarWorks @ Georgia State University,” effective Fall Semester 2013.
Faculty and students with “legacy” content in the institutional repository won’t need to change existing links to their work because all digitalarchive.gsu.edu content will automatically redirect to the new scholarworks.gsu.edu URL.
Visitors will also notice that the site has been redesigned to reflect the new look of the campus-wide website redesign.
Georgia State University’s institutional repository includes scholarly and creative works, research, publications, reports and presentations contributed by faculty, students, staff, and administrative units of Georgia State University. The institutional repository is administered by the Georgia State University Library in cooperation with individual departments and academic units of the University.
