Perimeter College Library Online Debuts New iLearn Modules
By Amy Shaw

The Perimeter College (PC) Online Library is proud to announce its brand new iLearn module collection! Built with Articulate 360 by PC Online Librarian Amy Shaw in conjunction with PC Honors Librarian Brooke Fry, these modules are standalone courses on library topics that can support and enrich traditional classroom instruction. Two of the modules, APA Citation Crash Course and MLA Citation Crash Course, focus on the format and skills needed to complete research papers while properly citing APA and MLA style. Throughout both of these modules are formative assessments designed to check the student’s understanding and reinforce important course content.
The third module is the first chapter in an ongoing mystery series called “Unlock the Library!” Designed to simulate using the library’s resources and online tools, students will help Gertie the librarian and student worker Imani as they attempt to determine why a shadowy figure is wreaking havoc at GSU’s library. Chapter 1 focuses on learning more about library services and using the catalog to find and request materials. Chapter 2 is currently under development and will focus on the University Library’s electronic databases, of which there are currently more than 480.
These tools are designed to support student success, either alongside or as an alternative to in-person library instruction. Please reach out to ashaw46@gsu.edu if you have any helpful comments, suggestions, or feedback for these courses. Happy Enrolling!
