Call for Proposals: Open for Student Success Symposium

Share your work. Support student success. Help shape the future of affordable learning.
What does affordable learning make possible for students? How are faculty, staff and students finding new ways to make course materials more accessible?
Georgia State University Library invites you to share your ideas and work at the Open for Student Success Symposium, a free online celebration of open and affordable education taking place Wednesday, March 3, 2027, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET.
Proposals are due November 1, 2026. Decisions will be sent by November 30. Submit a proposal at lib.gsu.edu/proposals.
The Open for Student Success Symposium brings together people who are practicing and studying open and affordable education in higher education. Presenting is an opportunity to share what you’ve learned, connect with colleagues and students at other institutions, and contribute ideas and resources that can support student success beyond your campus.
Faculty and staff at any institution of higher education are welcome to submit proposals. We encourage you to invite student collaborators as co-presenters. Students can also submit proposals about research or class projects related to open and affordable education. Other student submissions will be considered, too.
Building on Momentum
Last year’s symposium welcomed 426 registrants and 305 live attendees, with 23 presenters from nine U.S. states, Canada and Mexico. The program also featured its first bilingual presentation using Zoom’s translation tool. This year, we hope you’ll add your perspective to the conversation.
Proposals are due November 1, 2026. Decisions will be sent by November 30.
