Alum Wins Award for Dissertation
Congratulations to Lewis Faulk, alum (Ph.D. in Public Policy ’11 and now an assistant professor at American University). He has been awarded the 2012 Gabriel G. Rudney Memorial Award for Outstanding Dissertation by the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations & Voluntary Action (ARNOVA) for his dissertation Nonprofit and Foundation Behavior in Competitive Markets for Grants. The award is given annually for Ph.D. dissertations that have been completed or defended within the last three years. The award recognizes dissertations “that contribute to the advancement of theory, conceptualization, research, or practice in an area closely related to nonprofit organizations or voluntary action are eligible.”
Faulk’s award-winning dissertation analyzes competition for foundation grants in the nonprofit sector. It is accessible through the Digital Archive @ Georgia State University. The archive highlights the research and scholarly productivity of members of the University community. The University Library administers the archive to collect, organize, disseminate, and preserve the digital scholarly output of Georgia State University faculty, students and staff.
