School of Music Professor Receives ASCAP Honor

Dr. Sumner-Lott

Congratulations to Dr. Marie Sumner-Lott, whose article, “At the Intersection of Public and Private Musical Life: Brahms‚Äôs Op. 51 Quartets,” was recently recognized by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) as one of its Deems Taylor Award honorees for 2013!

Dr. Sumner-Lott’s article was published in the Fall 2012 issue of The Journal of the Royal Musical Association. Georgia State students and faculty can access the article online via our subscription to RILM Abstracts of Music Literature.

Read the article and then listen to the Op. 51 quartets via one of our streaming classical music databases: NAXOS Music Library or Classical Music Library.
