Biography Index, GEOBASE and Fact Search now available
We have added access to Biography Index, GEOBASE and Fact Search databases from First Search. These databases were previously available via GALILEO, but had to be cut from that menu due to budgetary issues.
GEOBASE covers worldwide literature on geography, geology, ecology, and related disciplines. Over 2,000 journals are fully covered, and 3,000 are selectively covered. More than 2,000 books, monographs, conference proceedings, and reports are also covered. It contains 600,000+ records with abstracts.
Fact Search provides facts and statistics about current social, economic, environmental and political issues. Included is a bibliographic citation and an abstract containing facts and statistics with reference to original source. Coverage: 1984 – present
Biography Index covers biographical information from English-language periodicals and books for all subject areas covered by H.W. Wilson indexes. Indexes articles, books, and autobiographies for biographical subjects from antiquity to the present. Includes individual and collective biographies from all fields and nationalities.
These databases are available via the list of databases and can be accessed off-campus via the proxy server.
