Four library faculty members earn promotions

Laura G. Burtle recently was promoted to associate university librarian for technology services. Burtle has served Pullen Library for nine years, most recently as head of instruction and learning technology services. Burtle obtained an MSLS from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (1994), and a bachelor’s degree from the college of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA.

Pamela S. Hackbart-Dean recently was promoted to head of special collections & acquisitions. Hackbart-Dean has served Pullen Library for 3 years, most recently as director of its Southern Labor Archives. She obtained a master’s degree from the University of Connecticut (1987), and a bachelor’s degree from Hendrix College, AR.

La Loria Konata recently was promoted to assistant professor, liaison and research services. Konata earned an MLS degree from Clark Atlanta University (1999), a master’s degree from GA. State (1996), and a bachelor’s degree from Tougaloo College, MS.

Marjorie D. Patterson recently was promoted to assistant professor, interlibrary services at Pullen Library, Georgia State University, Atlanta. Patterson obtained an MLS degree from Florida State University and a bachelor’s degree from Berry College.
