Haverty Lecture – Reducing Tobacco Use
The 2016 J. Rhodes Haverty Lecture “Change Agents in Business, Government, and Research: A Battle for a Smokefree Society” features a panel of tobacco control experts including keynote speaker, Patrick Reynolds. Reynolds, who is the grandson of R.J. Reynolds, is executive director of the Foundation for a Smokefree America. He will share his experience as an anti-tobacco advocate born into a tobacco producing family.
Dr. Michael Eriksen, dean and Regents’ Professor in the School of Public Health and Dr. Corinne Graffunder, director of the CDC’s Office on Smoking and Health will also speak on the panel. They will address changes in tobacco use and new efforts to continue curbing its use.
