Marketing Department Faculty Earn Research Award

Journal of MarketingCongratulations to Professor V. Kumar and Professor Denish Shah of the Center for Excellence in Brand & Customer Management in the J. M. Robinson School of Business.  They have been selected as the recipients of the 2009 MSI/H. Paul Root Award for their article “Expanding the Role of Marketing: From Customer Equity to Market Capitalization,” which appeared in the November 2009 (Vol. 73, No. 6) issue of Journal of Marketing.

This award is named in honor of H. Paul Root, who was President of the Marketing Science Institute from 1990-98. It is given by members of the Journal of Marketing editorial review board to a paper that has “made a significant contribution to the advancement of the practice of marketing.”  The award is co-sponsored by the American Marketing Association and the Marketing Science Institute and will be presented at the American Marketing Association’s 2010 Winter Marketing Educators’ Conference in New Orleans this February.
