Ceramics Grad Student Wins Top Award in National Juried Exhibition

Congratulations to Ashley Maxwell, MFA student in the Welch School of Art & Design’s Ceramics program. Ashley’s work took the top prize in the graduate student category in the national juried exhibition of student work held by NCECA (National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts).

Getting her work shown in the exhibition is a major accomplishment in itself, as graduate students from all over the United States vie for a place in the show. This year only 41 students were selected to show their work.

The Library subscribes to several ceramic art magazines to help keep emerging artists like Ashley on top of what’s new in the art world. The most recent issues of these can be found in the Periodicals Browsing area on Library North 1:

  • Ceramics Art & Perception
    also available online 2004-present
  • American Ceramics
  • Ceramics Monthly
    also available online 2000-present
  • Studio Potter
  • Sculpture
