You wrote it. But do you own it?
You are part of the university community. You do research. You give the product of your research to a journal. The journal publishes your article. You want to use the article in your teaching or further research. Can you? It depends! What kind of agreements did you sign? If you’ve signed away your copyrights, you will need to ask permission to use your own work!
