The Spanish-American War of 1898 represents a largely forgotten episode in U.S. history. Using period photography and illustrations, this presentation will explore the conflict, its outcomes, and the effects on U.S. foreign relations even today.
About our guest speaker: Dr. Barnes, a prestigious archaeologist, is an associate professor here at Georgia State University. He has worked throughout the U.S. and Caribbean, researching and publishing extensively on colonial and early American archaeology and history.
This event will be held on Friday October 14, at noon in the Colloquium Room which is located in Georgia State University, Library’s Special Collections & Archives Department on the eighth floor of Library South. This presentation is free and open to the public!
