Young adult literature
This topic is one of continuing interest to me and I think it is also relevant to students here at GSU. One of my favorite books by Sue Monk Kidd, Secret Life of Bees, will soon be a motion picture starring Queen Latifah, Dakota Fanning, and Jennifer Hudson (of American Idol fame, see American Idol blog for 7/28/08) as well as other well known actors like Paul Bettany. The film will be released in October (see Internet Movie Database). The library’s copies of this book may be found in the Carl and Gretchen Patton Children’s Collection under the call number Juv. PS3611 .I44 S38 2002. Courses in children’s literature are offered through the English Department and through the School of Education at GSU. The children’s collection in the library has many young adult titles that students and faculty may enjoy reading. Check our online catalog, GIL, to see if we have a book by your favorite author.
