Three new GALILEO databases available

There are three new databases available from GALILEO:

Book Index with Reviews

Book Index with Reviews (BIR) is a comprehensive database that provides information on over 3.8 million book titles in a wide range of formats, including large print and books on tape. Fiction and non-fiction titles are included in the database, in all genres. The product contains over 800,000 full-text searchable reviews, including reviews from Library Journal, School Library Journal, Publishers Weekly, CHOICE, and others.

NoveList

NoveList is an online readers’ advisory tool that helps readers find new books based on books they’ve read or on topics in which they are interested. NoveList provides enhanced subject access to over 125,000 fiction titles and more than 90,000 full-text book reviews or annotations.

NoveList helps you explore and discover the world of fiction. You can:

* find new books to read
* search for new books similar to other books you have enjoyed
* look for a book about a particular subject, relationship, geographic area, or period of time
* review award-winning books.

Ancestry Library Edition

The Ancestry Library Edition collection has approximately 4,000 databases including key collections such as U.S. federal census images and indexes from 1790 to 1930; the Map Center containing more than 1,000 historical maps; American Genealogical Biographical Index (over 200 volumes), Daughters of the American Revolution Lineage (over 150 volumes), The Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England, 1620-1630, Social Security Death Index, WWI Draft Registration Cards, Federal Slave Narratives, and a strong Civil War collection. All materials may be searched at once (using a basic or advanced search screen), or various databases and indexes may be searched individually.

All of these can be accessed via the Library’s List of Databases and through GALILEO.
