Big Data Talk by Dr. Tony Grubesic, Thursday, February 27th
The Department of Geosciences will host Dr. Tony Grubesic of Oregon State University this Thursday, February 27th at 4pm in the Student Center, suite 274 for a seminar titled “Big Data Computing for Protecting Critical Infrastructure Systems.”
Dr. Tony Grubesic’s big data talk “explores the vulnerability of critical network infrastructure systems in the United States. A spatio-temporal attack contingency model is developed to both identify and benchmark systemic weaknesses, as well as prioritize vulnerability mitigation efforts. The challenges and opportunities associated with big data computing are discussed. Strategies and associated policies for dealing with the vulnerability conundrum are also detailed.”
