The History of Radio Broadcasting in Georgia
An online exhibit is now available that documents the history of radio broadcasting in the state of Georgia over a 50 year period from its inception in 1922 through the 1970s. The exhibit utilizes materials from the radio broadcasting collections housed in the Special Collections and Archives at Georgia State University and from the collections at the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame.
A variety of topics related to the industry are covered including pioneers in the field, network affiliations, advertising, popularization of FM radio, and the Georgia Association of Broadcasters.
Questions about this exhibit and the radio broadcasting collections in the Special Collections and Archives should be directed to Kevin Fleming, archivist, Popular Music and Culture Collection, at 404-413-2880 or archives@gsu.edu.
