The Georgia State University Library recently received feedback from a faculty member who wrote, “I requested three rather obscure journal articles via Interlibrary Loan last week. You literally made the difference between a publication and no publication for me, and I greatly appreciate your help.”
This is a great example of how the Georgia State University Library can access the resources you need for research. In 2010, 920 libraries lent to Georgia State and it looks like we’ll collaborate even more in 2011. Services like Interlibrary Loan, GIL Express and Desktop Delivery are becoming increasingly important to researchers.
On Tuesday, March 22, experts from the library will provide an hour-long presentation on circulation and interlibrary loan services and how they can benefit your research. The presentation will be in Classroom 2 on the second floor of Library North from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Topics covered will include GIL Express, checkout privileges, visiting other libraries, establishing proxy patrons, and using ILLiad.
Come by and discover how to access the research you need for publishing and teaching. A Georgia State PhD candidate recently told us, “The only other way that I would have been able to obtain a copy is by traveling to Germany.” Avoid those international travel fees and let the Georgia State University Library do the work for you!
