Religious Studies Scholar to Speak at Troy Moore Library
The Department of Religious Studies presents noted scholar of religion John G. Gager in a talk on ancient Jewish texts entitled:
“Turning the World Upside Down: An Ancient Jewish Life of Jesus”
The talk will be presented in the Troy Moore Library on the 9th Floor of Langdale Hall (formerly, the General Classroom Building) from 2:00-4:00 on April 2nd.
Dr. Gager is the William H. Danforth Professor of Religion, Emeritus at Princeton University, where he taught from 1968 to 2006. He has written extensively on the religions of the Roman Empire, especially early Christianity and its relations to ancient Judaism and on the theme of religion and magic. His books include:
