“Labor’s Troubadour,” Joe Glazer, died last week. Some of you may remember him from the library’s Labor Day program last September, when we debuted the documentary film about his life, with a special performance by Joe Glazer himself.
Special Collections recently received a special screening copy of the film, which will be available soon from Smithsonian Folkways. The 20-minute documentary is available for viewing in our reading room.
We also have a series of his sound recordings.
Of special note: This Week with George Stephanopoulos featured Joe Glazer and one of our photographs of him on their “In Memoriam” portion of Sunday’s program. An on-demand clip of that is available on their website, just click on “In Memoriam” on the right-side menu.
