"Early American Imprints" Titles Added to GIL
The library recently added to GIL more than 36,300 titles in the Early American Imprints microfiche set. While the library has owned the set for a number of years, it was previously searchable only in paper bibliography format.
Based on the renowned “American Bibliography” by Charles Evans and enhanced by Roger Bristol’s “Supplement to Evans’ American Bibliography,” the set contains the complete text of every existent book, pamphlet, and broadside printed in the United States in the years 1639-1800. The collection is a definitive resource of information about every aspect of life in 17th- and 18th-century America, from agriculture and auctions to foreign affairs, diplomacy, literature, music, religion, the Revolutionary War, slavery, temperance, witchcraft and nearly any other imaginable topic.
