New Johnny Mercer Reading Room Opens on LS8
The Johnny Mercer Room for Research and Study is now open on Library South 8. The newly renovated Special Collections Department reading room features new furniture, expanded storage capacity, and new audiovisual equipment, including a DVD player and TV. Collection storage space has nearly tripled and as many as eight researchers can listen to or watch materials in the new room.
Renovation of the room was funded in part by the Johnny Mercer Foundation, which also supports the University Library’s Mercer Archives and the permanent, interactive, multi-media exhibit, Johnny Mercer: The Bard from Savannah, located on Library South 2.
