Cover letters and memos present the dual difficulty of needing to be concise while also needing to communicate a message effectively and efficiently. This presentation will discuss the best way to tutor students working on these types of writing, and how to write effective cover letters and memos. Some library resources on this topic include the following: The AMA handbook of business documents: guidelines and sample documents that make business writing easy; Gallery of best cover letters; and Winning cover letters.
