Johnny Mercer Exhibit in Library North

Johnny Mercer: The Bard from Savannah

Modifications have recently been made to the Johnny Mercer: The Bard from Savannah exhibit located on the 1st floor of Library North next to the Saxbys Coffee shop.   The exhibit now includes a restored 1946 Wurlitzer Jukebox, an upgraded sound system, display monitors with various photographic images from the Mercer collections, and a revamped theater kiosk for the screening of the Emmy-nominated Johnny Mercer: The Dream’s on Me documentary film.

All items on display in the exhibit were taken from the Johnny Mercer Papers and Johnny and Ginger Mercer Papers, which are housed in the Special Collections and Archives Department located on the 8th floor of Library South.

Questions about the music collection in the Special Collections and Archives Department should be directed to Kevin Fleming, archivist, Popular Music and Culture Collection, at 404-413-2880 or archives@gsu.edu.
