May 6 is National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day
Sponsored by the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day is an annual event which marks its 5th anniversary this year. The day is designed “to promote positive youth development, resilience, recovery, and the transformation of mental health services delivery for children and youth with serious mental health needs and their families” (SAMSHA).
Events and activities will take place across the country to bring awareness to the significance of the day.
