Call for Proposals: Artwork for Women’s Philanthropy Network Wellness Room 

The Georgia State University Library is seeking proposals for a piece of original artwork to be installed in the Women’s Philanthropy Network (WPN) Wellness Room. We aim to create a welcoming, calming environment for nursing parents in our academic community. 

Project Details 

  • Location: WPN Wellness Room, Study Commons, Library North, Atlanta campus 
  • Medium: Any, provided the piece can be securely wall-mounted 
  • Size: Maximum 36″ x 48″ 
  • Theme: Nurturing, comfort, or nature-inspired. Abstract or representational. 
  • Compensation: $500 – $2,000 

Requirements 

  • Alumnus of Georgia State University 
  • Original artwork created by the artist 
  • Suitable for a lactation environment 
  • Able to be securely mounted on the wall 

Submission Guidelines 

  • Artist’s statement (max 250 words) 
  • Concept sketch or description 
  • Artist’s resume or CV 
  • Timeline for completion (if a new work) 

Deadline for Proposals 

August 15, 2024 

Selection Process 

A committee of library staff and campus community members will review all submissions. Finalists may be asked to provide additional details or samples. We encourage submissions from artists of all backgrounds, especially those who are parents or have experience with lactation spaces.
