In Memoriam: Elliott Carter, American Composer

Cello by javi | cc-by-nc-sa

The art music scene suffered a great loss Monday. Elliott Carter, prolific and boundary-pushing composer, died at the age of 103. Carter was most known for his experimental style and compositions such as his Cello Sonata, which brought together various (occasionally discordant) elements of European and American modern music.
