University Library News
Georgia State University

You wrote it. But do you own it?

Open Access LogoYou are part of the university community. You do research. You give the product of your research to a journal. The journal publishes your article. You want to use the article in your teaching or further research. Can you? It depends! What kind of agreements did you sign? If you’ve signed away your copyrights, you will need to ask permission to use your own work!

Want to know more about your options? Join us on Wednesday or Thursday, October 26 or 27, when Gwen Spratt from GSU Legal Affairs, will review your rights as an author and how you might retain them.

(And for the cartoon version of how this plays out, take a look at Scientist meets Publisher….)
