The Construction of Political News

The presidential election cycle will formally begin very shortly – some may argue that it has already begun in the mass media.  Dr. Toby Bolson, with the Department of Political Science, examines how the Press construct a story in his timely article: The Construction of News: Energy Crises, Advocacy Messages, and Frames toward Conservation.  Published in the quarterly The International Journal of Press/Politics, the article examines how political news is shaped in the mass media by looking at several factors including world events, within the context of energy conservation.
