Georgia State University Library Celebrates 2010 Faculty Authors
When Provost Risa Palm spoke before a gathering honoring more than one hundred faculty authors, she pointed out that 10% of Georgia State’s faculty published monographs in 2010. Since this remarkable number of faculty deserves recognition for their hard work, the Georgia State University Library celebrated their accomplishments with the Monday, April 11th event, co-hosted by the Library Ambassador’s Board with collaboration from the Law Library.
The 2010 faculty publications are hosted within the Digital Archive @ Georgia State University, the university’s institutional repository. The celebration highlighted the 2010 faculty publications using a combination of iPads and projected displays to showcase the magnitude of research. Georgia State University Library intends to continue hosting publications by Georgia State’s researchers within the repository, both documenting and improving access to the material. Each monograph’s entry includes citation data, links to the library catalog, links to purchase the publications, and even samples of the text when available.
If you are a member of the Georgia State community and published in 2010, or are currently publishing in 2011, please contact our Digital Repository Services Librarian Amy Elliott about including your work.
