BP and Washington

barrel.php

The BP disaster has turned floodlights on the complicated oil business and the policies that govern it.  The University Library has many resources on politics and the oil and petroleum industry, including one by Georgia State Political Science Professor John S. Duffield titled:  Over a barrel: the costs of U.S. foreign oil dependence.

According to Michael E. O’Hanlon of the Brookings Institution:  “John Duffield is at once an excellent political scientist, experienced observer of American foreign affairs, clear and crisp writer, and pragmatic policy analyst. His study on the costs of our foreign oil addiction is an excellent guide to those wishing to understand this critical challenge for our planet’s environmental sustainability and our nation’s economy and security.”
