The Neuroscience Information Framework (NIF) is an information portal designed to help neuroscientists find and locate neuroscience research resources. The goals, design and operation of the NIF are published on Neuroinformatics:
Currently, NIF (http://nif.nih.gov/) searches the following resources simultaneously: NIF Web (keyword searching of neuroscience-related websites), NIF Registry (cataloged neuroscience electronic and non-electronic resources), databases (Cell Centered Database, NeuronDB at SenseLab, SumsDB, NeuroMorpho and NeuroMab), literature, CRISP (NIH grants and projects), and GENSAT (Gene Expression Nervous System Atlas). It is certainly a portal to watch.
