Library Celebrates Children's Book Week, Nov. 15-21
Join us in celebration of Children’s Book Week, November 15-21, 2004. Browse through more than 13,000 children’s books in the University Library’s Carl and Gretchen Patton Children’s Collection on the fourth floor of Library North. Find your favorite juvenile book, check it out, and read it with someone you know.
Children’s Book Week is observed annually to encourage kids to explore the world through books and is sponsored by the Children’s Book Council. This year’s them is Let’s Book.
Selected books from the children’s collection are on display on the first floor of Library North. These include winners of the Newbery Medal for most distinguished contribution to American literature for children, the Caldecott Medal for best illustrator of a picture book, and titles from the Georgia Children’s Book Awards. Brightly colored pop-up books complete the exhibit.
The exhibit was created by library faculty members Rebecca Drummond, Barbara Petersohn and Rachel Sindelar and is on display through December.
