Anne Melfi, an English Ph.D. student, has published “A Vision of the Public Intellectual, Benjamin Franklin Style” in the Cambridge Scholars monograph, Truth to Power: Public Intellectuals in and out of Academe , edited by Silvia Nagy-Zekmi and Karyn Hollis. I met with Anne last spring to help her find quotations by Benjamin Franklin for this book chapter. Anne has now completed her course work for the Ph.D., but will start working on her dissertation soon. Anne told me that my help really made a difference for her research. This is so good to hear! Here are a two titles that contain quotations from Benjamin Franklin’s works: Benjamin Franklin’s humor and The wit & wisdom of Benjamin Franklin. Congratulations Anne!
