During the period February 6-10, the library solicited feedback from users at each campus library and online. You responded with about 900 distinct comments; clearly you have a lot to tell us, and we appreciate the information! Over the next several weeks, we’ll respond to your major concerns.
Based on your feedback, you want vending machines and microwaves available in the Atlanta Campus Library. We hear you and are in discussion with Campus Services about installing a vending machine in Library North. Microwaves are not feasible at this time based on how spaces are defined. The University Library is currently developing a Library Master Plan. This long-term plan will be finished by fall 2017. We will consider the desire for some café-style space within the Atlanta Campus Library as part of this process. In the meantime, there are vending machines in Classroom South on every floor and across the Library Plaza in Kell Hall and Sparks Hall. Microwaves are available in the Panther’s Club dining area on the third floor of Student Center West and on the bottom level of Kell Hall across from the coffee shop. Regarding high vending machine prices–a complaint we heard from students at several campuses—please understand that prices are not set by the library.
Please keep checking back for additional responses to your 5 Days to Have Your Say feedback and further information about the Library Master Plan. You can offer your feedback anytime here. We also invite you to stop by the first floor of Library North on March 7, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., to participate in our Library Master Plan process.
