MOOCs and BOLOs at GSU

Massive Open Online Courses or MOOCs are a new way of teaching and learning.  MOOC’s are large scale internet classes that have seen an increase in popularity.  GSU is leading the way by adopting a new policy that could allow students to receive credit for taking MOOCs.

Biology Open Learning Opportunities (BOLO) are similar and are being offered by Robert Maxwell here at GSU.  According to their website, “BOLO is a project to build online learning communities among biology students and those interested in the life sciences. The goal is to bring the foundations of biology to a wide audience while furthering the education of biology majors at Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA, USA.”
